How hard is it to make a pot?

Very much, I tell you.

Anya & I spent one afternoon with this pottery wheel.

It took almost an hour before we finally figured out 1. the right texture of the clay 2. the correct way of holding the clay 3. shaping the clay while on the wheel.

It was very challenging. A test of patience to be precise. I almost skipped making dinner as I was in the zone and want to have something to show.

And after several attempts, this was the best I can do. It just kept on collapsing.

I should have used more clay.

I was aiming on making miniature clay pots, which were popular toys back in the Philippines. I remember when Anya was but weeks old, one of my aunt brought a whole set as a "welcome to the world" gift. Funny but very thoughtful.

The husband couldn't help but try. And for some reason, he finished his within 20 minutes.  Whatever!

Here are the finished products. Decorated by Anya of course.

That scene? I'm a fan of the whole movie. Whenever I see that scene I want to learn pottery, then the next day I go back to being sensible me again. I'm hopeless at crafty stuff. Your pots look nice.
